Alpbach is in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and lies on a plateau on the north-east side of the Alpbach valley (Alpbachtal). Alpbach is part of the Alpbachtal & Tiroler Seenland in the Kitzbüheler Alpen, north east of Innsbruck and to the east of the Zillertal and Mayrhofen. At the north end of the valley, where the Alpbach river joins the Inn river, is Brixlegg, then down the valley is Reith Im Alpbachtal, Alpbach and Inneralpbach. Along on the south side of the Inn is Rattenberg and on the north side is Kramsach. The main road down the valley ends at Inneralpbach and so there is no through traffic. In addition, Alpbach is set off the main road so reducing the traffic even more.

There are a number of different types of walks in the Alpbach area. Click here for information.
