The village of Igls lies in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and is just south of Innsbruck (5km). The main road from Innsbruck to the Brenner Pass and Italy passes to the west of the village with the villages of Telfes and Mutters in the Stubai valley being a few km further to the west.
Igls forms part of “Innsbruck and its holiday villages” with Aldrans, Ampass, Axams, Brigitz, Ellbögen, Götzens, Gries im Sellrain, Grinzens, Kematen, Kühtai, Lans, Mutters, Natters, Oberperfuss, Patsch, Ranggen, Rinn, Rum, St. Sigmund-Praxmar, Sellrain, Sistrans, Unterperfuss, Völs, Zirl.
Walking / Hiking in the Igls Area
The local walking area is to the east of Igls on and around Patscherkofel. Being close to Innsbruck with good transport connections, there are lots of possibilities around the other Innsbruck villages and the Stubai valley.

Skiing in the Igls Area
Downhill skiing is available in the Patscherkofel (2246m) area. Igls is part of the Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck which covers 9 ski resorts.
There are lots of cross country tracks in the area.
