Pertisau Location

Pertisau is in the Tirol (Tyrol) region of Austria and lies on the west side of the Achensee lake (the largest lake in Tirol). Pertisau is east of Innsbruck and north of the Zillertal and Mayrhofen. The main road runs north - south down the east side of the lake and so there is no through traffic through Pertisau.

Skiing in Pertisau
There is winter skiing in Pertisau, Maurach, and Archenkirch.
Nearby is the Skigebiet Alpbachtal and the Kitzbüheler Alpen Ski Region so the skiing area covers a large area.

- Skigebiet Alpbachtal (Alpbach, Reith, Kramsach).
There is summer skiing on the Hintertux Glacier south of Mayrhofen.

Airports (Flughafen)
These are the nearest airports to Pertisau.

Buses / Ferries
Buses run from Pertisau to / from:
- Jenbach (south)
- Archenkirch (and north into Germany) - only a couple of buses a day.
There are also services from:
- Jenbach to Archenkirch which stops at Maurach where you can change for buses to / from Pertisau.
- Archenkirch to Steinberg.
Some huts and restaurants, like the Gramaialm, also run their own buses.

There is a regular ferry service (Achenseeschiffahrt) across the Archensee between 6 points: Seespitz - Schiffstation, Buchau, Pertisau, Gaisalm, Achenseehof. Scholastika (Achenkirch).
Rail Stations (Bahnhof)
The narrow gauge railway (Archenseebahn) runs from Jenbach to a station near Pertisau (Seespitz ferry station) with intermediate stations at Burgeck, Eben, and Maurach.
The main line station in Jenbach runs west to Innsbruck and east to Salzburg.
The Zillertalbahn narrow gauge railway runs from Jenbach south to Mayrhofen .
ÖBB (English) also has bus information.
Cable Cars - Chair Lifts
There is a gondola in Pertisau (Karwendel Gondola) and a cable car in Maurach (Rofen Cable Car). The lifts in Archenkirch do not operate in the summer.
