Mürren is in the Kanton of Bern in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. It lies on the other side of the valley from Wengen and the Eiger - Mönch - Jungfrau mountain range on a sheltered terrace facing north east. Mürren is part of the Jungfrau region together with Interlaken, Grindelwald, Wengen, Bönigen, Ringgenberg-Goldswil, Iseltwald, Wilderswil and Lauterbrunnen. Mürren is one of the few villages in Switzerland not reached by road and apart from a few electric vehicles it is traffic free. From the valley town of Interlaken, Mürren is reached by either a 3 hour walk or by two mountain trains - there is no road connection.
